The breaking news that former president Joe Biden has an aggressive form of prostate cancer revealed that we have a new scandal of Biden deception, and a faceplant press that can’t seem to get to the bottom of anything about Democrats when it truly matters.
Anyone who’s known someone with prostate cancer knows it doesn’t go to the bone in a few months. The doctors who specialize in this told the TV news hosts that this didn’t just develop since January. It’s been going on for a while now. On Morning Joe, Dr. Zeke Emanuel said, “Oh, he’s had this for many years, maybe even a decade, growing there and spreading.”
All of the reporters doing seriously belated books on Biden suppression of his mental health problems didn’t tell us about the cancer angle. Now Dr. Emanuel said it’s common among everyday men that they don’t want the PSA test for prostate cancer after the age of 70, so maybe you could claim that Biden didn’t want it. But he’s not the average Joe. He’s the president. You don’t get to claim that the guy who was hyped like he was Neil Armstrong of the Cancer Moonshot shouldn’t be held more accountable on disclosing his own diagnosis of cancer.
Some tried to use the cancer diagnosis to downplay the new books on Biden’s mental decline. On CNN, Brian Stelter and David Axelrod argued it’s time for pausing the mental-decline story. Axelrod said “I think those conversations are going to happen, but they should be more muted and set aside for now, as he’s struggling through this.”
So it’s probably true that Team Biden has long hidden this fact from the public — and the press displayed no curiosity at all. How did Biden’s White House physician Kevin O’Connor neglect to mention this? As Mollie Hemingway tweeted, the media viciously mocked Trump doctors like Ronny Jackson for giving Trump a clean bill of health, but Biden’s doctor was “treated so nicely.”
In the summer of 2022, Biden said he had cancer, and everyone in the press just slept on it like he was simply misspeaking. We all thought it was more proof of cognitive decline. But maybe he had bumbled into speaking the truth, disappointing his fact-mangling handlers.
In addition, CNN host Jake Tapper sent me an angry email demanding I correct some errors I made in my syndicated column on his record of defending Biden’s mental sharpness. So I corrected it. I hate making errors, and I want to issue a correction if needed. This is not what CNN does. There are few corrections and few apologies. In a court of law, Tapper testified in the defamation case that CNN lost that he doesn’t follow his own show’s ratings. No one believed this, but no corrections were appended.
