Kingnewswire, press release // The volunteer ministers of Scientology in Milan launched an environmental initiative aimed at cleaning public spaces in the nine municipalities of the city. Thanks to weekly cleaning operations, educational programs and collaboration with local authorities, including AMSA (Milan environmental services), the group promotes civic responsibility, sustainability and community engagement. Their efforts include waste collection, restoration of green spaces and awareness of environmental management. Supported by global humanitarian structures based on the principles of the volunteer ministers’ program founded by L. Ron Hubbard, this initiative reflects a broader mission of service and positive social change. The movement invites citizens to join him to build a cleaner, safer and more aware urban environment.

Milan, Italy – May 21, 2025 – In a momentum of civic responsibility and environmental management, the volunteer ministers of Scientology in Milan have launched a sustainable initiative aimed at cleaning and revitalizing public spaces in the nine municipalities of Milan. Their efforts not only transform the urban landscape, but also inspire a growing movement of community environmental actions throughout the city.

This group of volunteers, made up of local residents and members of the Church of Scientology, has actively engaged in cleaning neglected parks, streets strewn with detritus, sidewalks invaded by vegetation and poorly maintained green spaces. Beyond the simple collection of waste, they aim to develop a deeper sense of personal and collective responsibility towards the environment.

“Waste does not disappear, and abandonment cannot be corrected without action,” said a member of the voluntary ministers. “Each individual effort contributes to making the city cleaner, safer and more livable. Our goal is to show an example and encourage responsible behavior towards our common environment. »»

Since the start of their efforts almost three years ago, the group meets every Saturday morning in different districts of the city, equipped with gloves, bags and determination. During the latest cleaning operations, volunteers collected around 80 large waste bags in just a few hours, a tangible sign of progress made as part of their mission.

These activities are carried out in coordination with local authorities, including AMSA (Azienda Milanese Servizi Ambientali), which provides logistical support to cleaning operations. This collaboration guarantees the effectiveness of work and its alignment with the wider municipal objectives in terms of sustainable development.

Beyond cleaning: education and community empowerment

Beyond physical cleaning, the Milan Scientology Church organizes educational workshops, events open to the public and awareness programs for schools, families and institutions. These initiatives aim to promote a change in long -term behavior and to promote a culture of respect for the environment.

Thanks to interactive presentations and practical experiences, participants acquire concrete tools for daily life, based on ethical principles and problem -solving techniques from the Scientology Manual. The program emphasizes self -improvement, communication and community service, values that transcend religious and cultural boundaries.

Free online courses based on these lessons are available worldwide, allowing everyone to study them and put them into practice independently. The material is accessible to everyone, whatever their origin or their beliefs, which makes it a precious resource for educators, youth animators and community organizers.

A global program with a local impact

The volunteer ministers’ program was founded over forty years ago by L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology. Initially developed as a humanitarian response to natural disasters and social crises, it has since been transformed into a global network of volunteers formed that have come to the aid of communities in need, whether through emergency rescue, drug education, assistance in literacy or environmental protection.

Today, the volunteer ministers are involved in more than 100 countries, where they meet natural and human disasters and help where it is most necessary. In Milan, one of their many priorities is now to fight against the latent crisis in urban decline and environmental apathy, problems affecting European and beyond.

Ivan Arjona-Pelado, representative of the Church of Scientology with European institutions in Brussels and the United Nations in Geneva, said:

“Actions carried out by volunteer ministers in Milan reflect an increasing global awareness that sustainable change begins at community level. While European cities are faced with increasingly important environmental challenges, popular movements like this offer a model of cooperation, civic engagement and concrete impact. Volunteer ministers are proof that when people unite with a goal and a commitment, they can make a lasting difference, not only in their neighborhood, but also by shaping a better future for everyone. »»

A model for urban sustainability and civic participation

Like many European cities, Milan is faced with permanent challenges linked to waste management, illegal landfills and the degradation of public spaces. If municipal services strive to maintain cleanliness, citizens’ participation remains an essential factor in achieving a lasting change.

The weekly efforts of volunteer ministers in terms of cleaning are an example of the way in which an organized civic action can supplement official environmental policies. By engaging directly in the districts, by raising awareness among the inhabitants and by encouraging other people to join their cause, they help to build a community more respectful of the environment and more active on the social level by showing the example.

The strength of this initiative lies in its simplicity, said a representative of AMSA, the municipal agency in charge of the environment. These are ordinary citizens who mobilize and do something extraordinary for their city. We are proud to support their efforts and hope this will become a reproducible model for other cities in Italy and abroad.

Global recognition and humanitarian impact

The volunteer ministers’ program is widely recognized for its contribution to humanitarian causes worldwide. The volunteer ministers’ program has been recognized thanks to its global influence, with more than 200,000 people trained in more than 100 countries. As indicated on their website, their efforts cover help in the event of a disaster, drug control campaigns, literacy programs and communities empowerment initiatives. The program responded to countless emergency situations, earthquakes and hurricanes with refugee crises and drug addiction epidemics.

Scientology and its affiliated humanitarian initiatives have received numerous civic and international distinctions, in particular praise of organizations affiliated with UNESCO, the American Congress and several European municipalities. These distinctions underline the universal value of the work of voluntary ministers, not only as a spiritual service, but also as a vital force for good in society.
