What was once one of the world’s most iconic prisons is about to reopened for business again and the left is losing it.
President Trump announced late Sunday night that he was ordering the Bureau of Prisons and other federal agencies to reopen and expand of Alcatraz prison, which shut down over six decades ago in order to send away the “dregs of society.” This means the most violent and wicked people residing in America legally and illegally will have a new home.
“REBUILD, AND OPEN ALCATRAZ! For too long, America has been plagued by vicious, violent, and repeat Criminal Offenders, the dregs of society, who will never contribute anything other than Misery and Suffering,” Trump wrote.”When we were a more serious Nation, in times past, we did not hesitate to lock up the most dangerous criminals, and keep them far away from anyone they could harm.”
“That’s the way it’s supposed to be. No longer will we tolerate these Serial Offenders who spread filth, bloodshed, and mayhem on our streets,” he added. “That is why, today, I am directing the Bureau of Prisons, together with the Department of Justice, FBI, and Homeland Security, to reopen a substantially enlarged and rebuilt ALCATRAZ, to house America’s most ruthless and violent Offenders.”
“We will no longer be held hostage to criminals, thugs, and Judges that are afraid to do their job and allow us to remove criminals, who came into our Country illegally. The reopening of ALCATRAZ will serve as a symbol of Law, Order, and JUSTICE. We will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
As TGP readers know, Alcatraz prison is a tiny island located off the San Francisco Bay. It once housed some of the most notorious gangsters in the entire world, including infamous mobster Al Capone.
The facility closed in 1963 because it was supposedly too expensive to keep operating. Today, it hosts over 1.2 million visitors per year as a major tourist attraction.
Trump also spoke to reporters about his decision, saying it was “just an idea” and said “radical judges” coddling illegal aliens are playing a key part in the decision.
“It’s a symbol of law and order and it’s got quite a history, frankly, so I think we’re going to do that, and we’re looking at it right now,” Trump added.

Upon hearing the news, Leftists including aides to California Governor Gavin Newsom went into meltdown.
“Trump is pledging to reopen Alcatraz as American consumers feel the financial pinch of his unpopular tariffs and he continues to tussle with the courts over mass deportations of immigrants,” one Newsom aide told the LA Times.
Notorious far-left California State Senator Scott Weiner also flipped out, saying that Trump “wants to turn Alcatraz into a domestic gulag right in the middle of San Francisco Bay.”
“He specifically calls out judges who won’t let him deport whomever he wants without due process,” he added. “In addition to being deeply unhinged, this is an attack on the rule of law.”
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also fumed about Trump’s bold announcement, calling the president’s order “unserious.”
