Clinicians continue to struggle with excessive administrative burden and fragmented technologies. Their desktops are crowded with dozens of apps, but they still somehow can’t locate the data they need at the point of care.
Veradigm is addressing this problem by streamlining provider workflows and embedding payer data — like care gap alerts and risk adjustment insights — directly into the EHR to avoid the chaos of multiple, redundant third-party apps, explained Megan Zakrewsky, the company’s vice president of product. She highlighted how misaligned data between payers and providers can lead to missed preventive care opportunities, which in turn may result in worse health outcomes and higher costs.
Veradigm aims to close information gaps by improving interoperability, especially for smaller or independent practices with fewer resources. The company also supports bi-directional data exchange, making it easier for information from patient visits to reach payers without added administrative tasks.
Ultimately, Zakrewsky believes the biggest challenge isn’t technology but driving behavior change among all stakeholders — providers, payers and patients alike.
